Cold Stone Creamery Featured in Popular Online Entrepreneur Publication

YS Weekender magazine interviews Cold Stone Tastemaster about the science behind our super-premium fresh ice cream

A leading international media-tech company which focuses on inspiring entrepreneur stories recently featured an interview with Cold Stone Creamery Franchise Tastemaster™ Maya Warren. Dr. Warren gave the Indian publication the scoop on trending ice cream flavors, as well as the strategy behind the brand’s Ultimate Ice Cream Experience®.

YS Weekender spotlighted Dr. Warren’s food scientist expertise and focus on the science of frozen, aerated desserts. But first, she shared the most popular flavor around the world, as well as those being developed in India. “Vanilla, of course, continues to reign across the world. We are in the process of launching new flavors this season like Rose Faluda, Dark Indulgence, Rookie Cookie and Hazelnut Crunch in India. Also, the highlight of this season is hand-picked strawberries with ice-cream.”

Visual appeal and positivity are key to Cold Stone guest experience

Cold Stone Creamery was founded in 1988 as part of a quest to create the perfect ice cream experience, focusing on fresh ice cream made in-house. Dr. Warren told YS Weekender that visually appealing creations are part of that experience.

“I do a lot of market research and travelling to taste ice creams, frozen aerated desserts, and foods from all over the world. I really focus on providing visually appealing products because we eat with our eyes first. I like to introduce things to customers they did not even know they wanted or even needed!,” Dr. Warren told the publication.

Cold Stone guests know they can rely on a high-quality, premium product as well as a warm and friendly experience. Cold Stone Creamery crew members sing and cheer, encouraging laughter and friendly conversation, and when the customer leaves, they leave with a smile. “Our staff is trained not just to serve quality ice cream, but also to break into songs, dance, juggle, and even to throw and catch ice cream to entertain our guests,” Dr. Warren said.

Cold Stone Creamery franchises dominate markets

When asked what sets Cold Stone Creamery apart from the competition, Dr. Warren told YS Weekender: “We are the original American Creamery from the United States that was founded in 1988 to provide 100 percent vegetarian ice cream to consumers in a unique way. We offer “Signature Creations” and “Create Your Own” concepts with over 20 toppings, where the ice cream is customized for each guest by combining a variety of mix-ins on a frozen granite stone.”

Cold Stone Creamery’s ingredients also make the ice cream’s flavor profile superior than typical ice cream shop offerings. “Not all ice cream is the same,” Dr. Warren told the publication. “Some ice cream products are made with vegetable fat, which does not provide a rich, creamy, and delicious eating experience. We offer 14 percent full dairy fat ice cream that is processed, batch by batch.”

Cold Stone Creamery franchise now has more than 1,000 stores in the United States and a presence in nearly 30 international markets. We still have optimal territory available for new franchise expansion and development. Based in Scottsdale, Arizona, Cold Stone Creamery is owned by parent company Kahala Brands™, one of the world’s fastest-growing franchising companies with a portfolio of 28 quick-service restaurant concepts.
